About Us

How we began….

In 2017 a local farming family provided the Jerramungup community with the opportunity to lease some land for a community crop - a group of people took on this project and thus the Jerramungup Future Fund (JFF) was born.

Whilst the JFF did not have a clear direction for the funds at this time, and there was no immediate need within the community, the opportunity was too good to pass up. The founders of the group aimed to make a start in growing a community fund, with plans to continue growing these funds through successive community crops and other fundraising projects. In 2021 our direction became clearer, and it was decided that the purpose of raising these funds would be to help facilitate revitalisation projects within the community.

Like many small rural towns across Australia, we are facing a declining population and many other issues that are common amongst those living in a regional area. The JFF aim to support the creation of a positive community where people want to live, work, and socialise.

Since our inception, board members, committee members and memers of the community have come together to identify what the core vision of the Jerramungup Future Fund is:

- Creating a positive community & supporting community projects

- Generate tourism opportunities

- Economic development & employment opportunities

The executive committee, together with our general committee members are now in the process of developing a strategic plan to guide us through and help us reach these goals. We look forward to sharing more with you on these ideas into the future.

In the meantime, if you have any ideas regarding community projects that may be supported by the JFF, please contact us via email at: jerramungupfuturefund@outlook.com
